The Schoolhouse
The Schoolhouse at The Rift Estate has been transformed into a romantic guest house imbued with comfort and country charm. A pebbled path leads to leadlight French doors and a private balcony overlooking jasmine, citrus and lilac-filled gardens with views to the field and woodland creek.
The open-plan living features a library lounge and dining nook, grand four-poster bed with a separate generous gourmet kitchen and bathroom. A scenic walk to town, it encapsulates the very best of Bowral.

The Space
The Schoolhouse is an open-plan studio living space with a lounge area with library bookshelves and tv, a dining table, and a four-poster queen bed. There is a separate well-equipped kitchen and bathroom with laundry facilities.
French doors lead to a private balcony overlooking the gardens.
Guest Access
The Coach House B&B and The Rift historic mansion are nearby. Each dwelling has private guest-only areas complemented by shared access to the Estate gardens, pond, field and creek.
Entry is via gates next to under-cover parking.
A path leads through the gardens to the balcony and entry doors.

“The Schoolhouse was brilliant for a stay in Bowral. It was comfortable and really tastefully decorated. The bed is *super* comfy and I didn’t know I could be so swayed by the linen/towels, but they all added to a great stay. I wanted to do some cooking and stay in a couple of nights, and the kitchen was perfectly stocked (more than I had expected). Janet was a great host and I can definitely recommend staying here!”
“This was an absolutely stunning airbnb in an equally stunning part of Australia. The property was magical and the Schoolhouse was charming and cute. We loved being able to spot animals such as kangaroos and rosellas playing in the backyard. A highlight of our trip was seeing the wombat burrows and trying to catch a cheeky glimpse of one in the evenings. The cottage was warm and cosy despite the seven degree mornings outside, the bed was also comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. I couldn’t recommend the Schoolhouse more!”
